Draped is a full-service, turn-key window covering company specializing in custom drapery, bedding and shades, as well as high quality hard window coverings and shutters. We cater to the luxury market of Austin, Texas, the surrounding Hill Country, and Highland Lake areas.

Draped was established by an interior designer for the discriminating client who is looking for quality, knowledge, attention to detail, great customer service, and a company that stands behind their products. We are not the best fit for those looking for entry level products or the lowest price.

Custom window coverings are not a one-and-done type of sale. It is important to have a liaison to work with you through the years to offer support, such as sending an installer to your home to change batteries if you have purchased motorized shades, or taking down and reinstalling your drapery because you plan to have your home painted. We want to be your go-to custom window covering company for this home and the next.

We are one of the few drapery companies in town that provides our clients with detailed full-color renderings and specifications for any custom soft goods at the time your order is processed. This is an extremely critical step that many companies ignore that will ensure you are completely pleased with your custom drapery before manufacturing begins.

Our window covering sales and design support staff consists of interior designers who are able to assist you with making the right choices in regards to fabric, textures, and patterns that will work well with the interior of your home.

Our Process

1. Initial Appointment

We'll schedule an initial complimentary consultation appointment to meet with your drapery designer in your home or office. We will also email you a preliminary questionnaire to fill out before your appointment so that your drapery designer may bring samples to this appointment. During the meeting, she will work with you to select fabrics and any other components needed for your project, and will also take rough measurements of the windows you would like treated. For commercial projects, we will work with any builder, architect, project manager or designer involved in your project to ensure the window treatments adhere to the space’s overall design.

2. Proposal Approval

We will use the rough measurements taken by your drapery designer to create a proposal with pricing of your desired window treatments or other custom items for your review and approval. We will also research any code requirements, such as flame retardant or specially treated fabrics, that may need to be considered for certain commercial and condo spaces and will inform you of any changes that need to be made to your project based on this research. If the final proposal is to your liking and is approved, we will request a 70% deposit to schedule your project for manufacturing, with the remainder due after installation. Once we have received your deposit, we will schedule a professional measure appointment with one of our certified installers that will allow us to guarantee the fit of our products.

3. Custom Specifications

For fully custom items like drapery and pillows, we will prepare and send custom specifications to show you a full-color diagram and specific manufacturing details for your finished project. This allows you to see a visual representation of your custom items, and to make any last-minute changes if needed before manufacturing begins. Once you have reviewed and approved your custom specifications, we will order all fabric, hardware, and any other items needed to manufacture your order.

4. Installation

As your projected installation date draws closer, we will schedule your installation appointment with the same certified installer that completed your measure. A member of our team will also be present at your installation to make sure that everything goes smoothly and that you are thrilled with your final results.

Robin Bond has been designing custom drapery since 2003 and it has always been her first love and passion. Draped was established in 2013 as a complementary company to Robin Bond Interiors, a boutique interior design firm. Robin created Draped to focus on creating beautiful drapery, and to assist clients who are looking for quality window coverings but do not need to embark on a full interior design project, or are already working with their own interior designer. Through Draped, Robin is able to specialize in unique custom drapery designs and their integration with motorization or large & complex windows, and provide quality other window treatments such as shutters, blinds, shades, and woven woods, as well as custom bedding , pillows and upholstery. As an interior designer and Certified Window Treatment Consultant, Robin is able to ensure your new drapery or window treatment will add a beautiful finishing touch to your interior space.
